Kryder Veterinary Clinic: Caring for Pets Since 1981

Learn About Kryder Veterinary Clinic Kryder Veterinary Clinic first opened September 15, 1981, in a small red building off State Road 23. Since then, we’ve grown with the Granger community and have expanded that little red clinic three times over the years. In 2014, the baton was handed over to his daughter Jessica Murphy and Dr. Stephanie Harr; with the promise that they will carry his vision in the future. This was an easy task; for both Jessica and Dr. Harr believe in a veterinary practice full of love, compassion, and companionship for both client and patient. The future is looking bright!

We are still at the same location, delivering the highest quality care for the Michiana region, driven by the following mission:

"We, as a team, are here to provide excellent medical care throughout your pet’s life. We focus on compassionate care, relieving pain, and extending the quality of life for your pet, while providing educated and pleasant service for you!"

The ownership, management, and staff of Kryder Veterinary Clinic are proud to be not only a business, but also a community member. It makes what we do that much more rewarding. We believe it makes a difference. Our clients keep validating it by voting us in as a Blue Ribbon Business in the South Bend Tribune’s annual survey. We have been voted #1 in the Reader’s Choice 9 out of the last 10 years.

We are dedicated to caring for all the members of our community, including South Bend, Mishawaka, and Granger, and work with many local animal rescue groups, such as Pet Refuge and Pets Connect, delivering quality veterinary care to animals in need. We also sponsor several youth sports teams around Granger and are proud to be an affiliate of local job shadowing programs to help introduce area children to possible careers in the veterinary field. In addition, we send guest speakers to scholastic events and hold educational events at our clinic to encourage community participation and education.

Our Family

The Midwest is known for its family-centric values, and that is what Kryder Veterinary Clinic (KVC) embodies. We truly are a family business. Dr. Donn Kryder founded KVC in 1981, and he is still practicing veterinary medicine. In 2014 he sold KVC to Dr. Stephanie Harr & Jessica Murphy with the plan that they would maintain KVC as a family business, with the Michiana four-legged community their top priority.
